Chapter Meetings, Presentations, Conferences, and Networking Events

In keeping with ARMA International’s mission for records management, to educate, advocate and provide resources that enable professionals to manage information as a critical element of the organizational operations and governance, the Capitol Chapter has a proposed schedule of educational events for the 2016-17 fiscal year. The Capitol Chapter will host presentations by expert speakers to present and discuss Records and Information Management (RIM) topics. In addition, we will periodically host networking events for sharing and gaining knowledge on topics of your choosing. The Greater Sacramento Capitol Chapter of ARMA presents our third session in our series: Building Your Dream Records Program. January will focus on "What is a Document Management System".

Matt Brunnquell will present on how a Document Management System (DMS) can help your organization be more successful – not just today, but into the future. DMS solutions are critical for managing the explosive growth of organizational work product and other content by ensuring it is accessible, governed, and can be leveraged for maximum benefit and organizational productivity. In this session you will learn about the basic capabilities of a DMS; why organizations utilize DMS solutions; how organizations can incorporate a DMS into their enterprise information management (EIM) program; as well as how technologies like mobility, cloud, SharePoint, and Analytics are being leveraged in conjunction with DMS systems to provide robust EIM.


Matt Brunnquell is the Director of Sales, North America for OpenText eDOCS. He joined OpenText in 2015 with the acquisition of Daegis, where he worked for 12 years, most recently as the Director of Sales for the Americas and Asia Pacific. Before joining Daegis, Mr. Brunnquell held various direct sales, channel sales, and business development positions with Sun Microsystems, FRx Software, Business Objects, and Informix. Mr. Brunnquell received a B.S. degree in computer science from Missouri State University.
